HycAero Achieves Nadcap Gold Merit Status Across All Five Accredited Special Processes

HycAero has reached a significant milestone by achieving Nadcap Gold Merit status across all five of its accredited special processes simultaneously for the first time.

The achievement places HycAero among an elite group of aerospace suppliers worldwide. Of the nearly 5,000 Nadcap-accredited companies globally, HycAero is the only company in the UK to hold Gold Merit status across all five special processes and one of only nine organisations worldwide to achieve this distinction.

In addition, HycAero has been awarded a 24-month accreditation for Surface Enhancement, reflecting the maturity, stability and ongoing excellence of its processes.

A Globally Recognised Mark of Quality

Nadcap (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) is the aerospace industry’s leading special process accreditation programme. Managed by the Performance Review Institute (PRI), it brings together major aerospace manufacturers and suppliers to establish and maintain rigorous standards across aviation, defence and space sectors.

Achieving Nadcap accreditation demonstrates that a supplier’s processes meet the stringent quality, safety and performance requirements demanded by the world’s leading aerospace organisations.

Gold Merit status represents the highest level of recognition available within the programme and is awarded only to companies that consistently demonstrate exceptional performance over multiple audit cycles.

Demonstrating Excellence Across Critical Aerospace Processes

HycAero currently holds Nadcap accreditation for:

  • Chemical Processing
  • Coatings
  • Heat Treating
  • Non-Destructive Testing
  • Surface Enhancement

While each of these special processes has achieved Silver and Gold Merit recognition individually in the past, this is the first time all five have simultaneously attained and maintained Gold Merit status.

The achievement reflects years of sustained investment in quality systems, process control, technical expertise and continuous improvement across the business.

Commitment to Customers and the Aerospace Supply Chain

Commenting on the achievement, Stephen Kelly, Operations Director at HycAero, said:

Achieving Gold Merit across all five special processes at the same time is a fantastic accomplishment and a real credit to the consistency and discipline of our teams. This recognition demonstrates our commitment to quality and reinforces the high standards that our customers expect from us every day.

For customers, the achievement provides additional confidence that HycAero’s special processes continue to operate at the highest levels of quality, compliance and operational excellence.

As aerospace programmes become increasingly demanding, maintaining world-class accreditations remains a key part of HycAero’s commitment to supporting customers with reliable, high-quality manufacturing and processing solutions.

This milestone further strengthens HycAero’s position as a trusted partner within the global aerospace supply chain and reflects the expertise and dedication of teams across the business.
